July 2013 – August 2013 (1 month)
Other than UDK, I’ve also learned how to use the Perlenspiel engine. I set out to create a toy, puzzle, and a game only using Perlenspiel. I had 1 week to create each. The first one I created was Build a Track, the toy.
Build a Track
Build a Track allows you to create a race car track. Once you have completed the track, you can have a race car drive around it. If you built a good track, the race car will continue to drive around the track and won’t crash. Build a Track was featured on Spiel Matrix.

Note: To play the toy, you just need to open the HTML document named game. Do not rename any of the files or folders, or you may break the toy.
Tumble Beads
Tumble Beads is the puzzle I created. In Tumble Beads, you’re trying to get colored beads from the top to the bottom, but the colored beads must land in the appropriate colored square. To build a path for the beads, you are able to place objects called pushers.

Surge
Lastly, Surge is the game I created. In Surge, you control a cyborg who is running for his life. While running, you will encounter various objects that can harm or help you. For example, you can collect batteries to replenish some of your energy, or if you hit a bio hazard, you will need to use some energy to repair yourself. The cyborg continues to run until he runs out of energy.
